Formula 1 cut its overall carbon footprint by a reported 35% since 2018, removing nearly 80,000 tCO2e from operations and keeping the sport on track toward its Net Zero 2030 target. Freight and travel emissions fell 27% as the series shifted broadcast and logistics operations away from air transport and toward sea freight and regional hubs, with more than half of current air freight expected to be eliminated by 2030.

Factory and facility emissions declined 64% as F1's 11 teams transitioned to renewable energy, while investment in sustainable aviation fuel doubled year over year, delivering approximately a 40% reduction in air charter emissions.

As global sports properties face growing pressure to reduce their environmental impact, Formula 1 shows how operational sustainability initiatives can scale alongside continued growth.
