Foxes Safari Camps Reopens Stanley Kopje to Deliver Sustainable Safaris
Kanesa D — October 23, 2025Foxes Safari Camps is reopening Stanley’s Kopje, a luxury tented lodge located in the heart of Mikumi National Park, Tanzania. Located on a hill, the camp offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the sweeping Mkata floodplains and the distant Udzungwa Mountains.
Nestled in a remote part of the park, Stanley’s Kopje is surrounded by open savannahs teeming with wildlife, including herds of grazing animals and predators like lions and leopards. Located about 30 kilometers from other tourist areas, the camp offers visitors a peaceful escape from the usual crowds and relies on solar power, water conservation, and waste reduction to operate. Guests can enjoy an authentic safari adventure rooted in sustainable practices while relaxing in high-end, comfortable accommodations.
“You really get a sense of what Henry Stanley went through on his expeditions. It’s still very remote, you have 360-degree views where you see nothing but bushland. The feeling you get when you arrive here is that you are on the same expedition. It’s a tip of the hat to his journey," said Oliver Fox, Operations Manager at Foxes Safari Camps.
