Set against the striking landscapes of southern Namibia, Gondwana Canyon Park is poised to become the home of the world’s largest privately managed Black Rhino sanctuary—a landmark initiative in both wildlife preservation and sustainable tourism. Led by Gondwana Collection Namibia, in partnership with the ERP Conservation Foundation Namibia and the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT), the project aims to protect the critically endangered Black Rhino, whose wild population remains dangerously low at fewer than 5,500 individuals.

The sanctuary will function as a safe haven, countering the growing threats of poaching and habitat loss. Beyond its conservation impact, the initiative is envisioned as a hub for ecologically responsible tourism, offering immersive, education-driven experiences that raise awareness while minimizing environmental impact.

By blending conservation science, community engagement, and low-impact travel, Gondwana Canyon Park sets a new benchmark for nature-based tourism that prioritizes both ecosystem integrity and species survival.
