Grand Hyatt Singapore Prioritizes Eco-Conscious Renovation
Debra John — August 1, 2025Following a comprehensive renovation, Grand Hyatt Singapore has introduced a range of environmentally focused upgrades aimed at reducing its ecological footprint while maintaining high standards of hospitality. Located in the bustling Orchard Road district, the hotel has integrated sustainable systems and infrastructure as part of its operational strategy.
A key aspect of the transformation is the shift to 100% renewable electricity, significantly lowering the hotel’s reliance on fossil fuels. In addition, the property has implemented a closed-loop aquaponics system, which repurposes food waste into nutrient sources for on-site farming. This system reduces organic waste and supports local food production.
The hotel has also installed an on-site water bottling plant, eliminating the need for single-use plastic bottles and reducing transportation emissions. Together, these measures reflect a broader effort to align luxury hospitality with environmental sustainability, contributing to resource efficiency and long-term ecological resilience.
