Harnest Unveils a Platform to Promote the Use of Ethical Trims

Bangladesh-based manufacturer Harnest has introduced the Responsible Trims Collection, a platform designed to accelerate the adoption of recycled, next-generation, and biodegradable trims in apparel production. The brand operates based on the knowledge that trims can represent over 40% of a garment’s bill of materials, yet have historically been under-addressed in textile recycling efforts.

Embedded within Harnest’s Dhaka operations, the platform is supported by partnerships with OceanSafe, Ambercycle, BlockTexx, Indorama Ventures, and Jiaren, spanning innovations in textile-to-textile recycling, polymer regeneration, and biodegradable materials.

The initial offering features OceanSafe’s naNea polymer, a polyester alternative that biodegrades by over 93% in marine environments within 99 days and remains compatible with PET recycling streams. It is currently available in applications such as sewing threads and elastics.
