Bioinformatics firm DEUS EX MACHINA was selected to receive a substantial financial grant from the European Union recovery fund to support the creation of an online AI Ingredient Upscaling platform.
As the name might suggest, DEUS EX MACHINA's project applies artificial intelligence to the issue of food manufacturing waste. The objective was to develop a tool that would enable food producers to analyze their production by-products — from cereal remnants to fruit pulp — and identify potential ways to convert them into valuable ingredients.
DEUS EX MACHINA's AI Ingredient Upscaling platform is accessible online and fits the circular economy model. By providing detailed biochemical profiles and suggesting practical applications for what would otherwise be discarded, the company is addressing both environmental concerns and economic inefficiencies within the modern food industry.
