Wheel-Integrated Solar E-Bikes
PHOSGO is extending off-grid electric mobility with the Go5 Series, an e-bike range that integrates solar panels directly into its wheels. Four panels provide up to 200 W of peak solar capacity, while a conductive hub transfers electricity from the rotating wheels to the bike’s electrical system. An intelligent controller directs solar energy toward motor assistance while riding and battery charging when parked. Under favorable conditions, solar recovery can extend the Go5 Ultra’s combined riding distance to approximately 140 miles before another plug-in charge.
For e-bike manufacturers, integrating solar generation directly into the vehicle could create new opportunities within camping, touring and adventure mobility markets. Riders can reduce their dependence on charging infrastructure, particularly in remote locations. PHOSGO’s consumer launch could also demonstrate commercial demand for solar-assisted transportation and encourage broader integration of photovoltaics into lightweight electric vehicles.
