Mitrex and Gensler Launch Solar Facade with Honeycomb Backing

The solar technology manufacturer Mitrex has formed a collaboration with the international architecture firm Gensler to advance the eFacade PRO+ — a line of "customizable solar facades with honeycomb backing."
This joint effort has focused on refining a solar panel facade system that incorporates a structural backing material, aiming to merge energy generation with architectural design requirements. The product is engineered to offer extensive visual customization — including varied colors, textures, and forms — while adhering to established international standards for fire safety and structural performance.
The collaboration between Mitrex and Gensler is expected to "set a new standard for solar facades that combine design freedom, high performance, and sustainability." The eFacade PRO+ delilvers an estimated "40.79 kg CO₂e/m² of embodied carbon and the ability to offset emissions in as little as one year."
