Barilla published its Sustainability Report on World Environment Day, highlighting measurable progress across sustainable food production, packaging, energy and agriculture. A slimmer Tagliatelle pack saved 150 tons of cardboard and reduced transport-related CO₂ emissions by 20%, while sauce jars shifted to roughly 65% recycled glass.

On energy, €30 million invested in 2025 as part of a €168 million five-year plan quadrupled photovoltaic capacity across production sites to more than 8MW. Water recycling and reuse at water-stressed facilities increased by 196% compared to 2022. In agriculture, Barilla sourced 4,160 tonnes of soft wheat from regenerative farming practices in 2025, targeting 250,000 tonnes by 2030 through crop rotation, minimum tillage and organic fertilization.

Barilla shows how incremental gains in packaging, energy and sourcing can compound into meaningful sustainability progress.
