SeaChange 2030 is Thai Union’s roadmap for enhancing sustainability across its global seafood operations by 2030. Launched in 2021, the initiative rests on four pillars: regenerating ocean ecosystems, advancing responsible sourcing, transforming business, and enriching communities. Key targets include sourcing all major species from certified or improving fisheries, ending illegal fishing practices, and cutting scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent. The program employs digital traceability, partnerships with NGOs and industry groups on fishery improvement projects, and third-party audits to boost transparency and accountability.

At the 2025 UN Ocean Conference, Thai Union reported that over 90 percent of its skipjack tuna volumes now come from Marine Stewardship Council–certified sources or active improvement projects, with more than 150 improvement projects underway. The company has also extended health and welfare services to over 6,000 crew members and supported livelihood programs for nearly 1,000 coastal women. Going forward, Thai Union plans to deepen its decarbonization investments, strengthen community partnerships, and adopt emerging technologies such as blockchain traceability to sustain progress through 2030.
