Almaty Now Has a Plant Producing Dry Mix Mortars from Industrial Waste
Kanesa D — April 7, 2026A new facility in Almaty has begun producing dry mix mortars using recycled industrial waste and locally sourced mineral materials. The production process was developed by scientists at Satbayev University in partnership with other Kazakhstani academic and research institutions.
According to research professor Ruslan Nurlybayev, the initiative has progressed from material development to full-scale industrial deployment. The mortars are designed for use across the construction sector, offering both environmental benefits through waste reduction and improved production efficiency.
The site also includes a dedicated training and laboratory center, providing graduate and doctoral students with opportunities to test and develop advanced building materials. The initative is supported by prominent educational instutitons and companies, including th Ministry of Science and Higher Education. It involves Satbayev University, Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University, Auezov South Kazakhstan University, the Institute of Metallurgy and Ore Beneficiation, and SAVENERGY Company.
