Carbon Removal Agreements
Anew Climate Has Sold 85,000 Tons of Carbon Credits to JPMorgan Chase
Adam Harrie — April 17, 2026Anew Climate and Aurora Sustainable Lands agreed to supply JPMorgan Chase with 85,000 tons of verified forest carbon removal credits from the 'Little Bear Forestry Project.' The project, which spans from West Virginia to Virginia, is managed for long-term carbon storage.
The deal marks JPMorgan Chase's second forest carbon removal purchase in April as the company works to cover all direct operational emissions with durable removal credits by 2030. The credit quality is verified through Anew's 'Epoch Evaluation Platform,' which uses satellite data, machine learning and field observations. Aurora oversees more than 1.7 million acres of previously logged US forestland repositioned around carbon stewardship.
This deal demonstrates how combining satellite-based monitoring with responsible forest management can generate removal-quality credits.
