Avantium N.V. has entered into a conditional five-year offtake agreement with PLIXXENT, a manufacturer of polyurethane systems. Under the agreement, PLIXXENT will purchase FDCA (furandicarboxylic acid) produced at Avantium’s FDCA Flagship Plant for use in manufacturing eco-friendly insulation foams.

PLIXXENT has successfully tested FDCA in the production of polyester polyols used to create polyurethane insulation foams, confirming both its performance and environmental benefits.The resulting foam demonstrates excellent thermal insulation, flame resistance, and long-term durability. These characteristics make it an ideal solution for the growing demand for greener, high-performance building materials.
