The Calcot & Spa, located near Tetbury, has partnered with Grundon Waste Management to pursue EarthCheck Gold certification, a globally recognised standard for sustainable tourism and operational excellence.

Currently, only 43 hotels across the UK have achieved EarthCheck certification, highlighting the exclusivity and prestige of this eco-conscious initiative. Calcot Manor and Spa has already earned the EarthCheck Silver rating, placing it among just five hotels outside London to reach this level.

The hotel’s ongoing efforts to attain the gold standard reflect a broader commitment to environmental stewardship, from waste management and energy efficiency to water conservation and community engagement, reinforcing its status as a leading sustainable luxury destination.

"So we produce a lot of waste from across our operations, and we’re constantly finding new ways to minimise what we produce, to recycle as much as we can. "We’re focused on decreasing things like energy and water usage year on year, and managing waste streams is a major factor for us too.
