Carbon-Tech Startup Collaborations
The Carbon to Value Initiative Announced its Acceleration Goals
Debra John — November 19, 2025The 'Carbon to Value Initiative' (C2V Initiative)—a partnership between Greentown Labs, the Urban Future Lab at NYU Tandon, and Fraunhofer USA—has selected ten startups for the fifth year of its accelerator, all working on technologies that help reduce carbon pollution and support a cleaner environment.
Chosen from" 165 applications across 33 countries, these companies develop solutions that capture carbon from the air, prevent emissions at industrial sites, or turn CO₂ into useful products such as fuels, chemicals, materials, and graphene." Others focus on long-term storage methods, including underground mineralization and natural removal pathways.
Over the next six months, the startups will receive support to advance their climate technologies and bring them closer to real-world use. They will collaborate with the Carbontech Leadership Council, a group of corporate and nonprofit leaders who help identify pilot opportunities, testing environments, and ways to scale impact. By accelerating these innovations, the C2V Initiative helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions, grow the carbon-tech sector, and support long-term climate and environmental benefits.
