TÜV SÜD Has Acquired SustainCERT to Scale Carbon Verification

TÜV SÜD acquired Luxembourg-based SustainCERT, strengthening its digital carbon verification capabilities by combining TÜV SÜD's assurance expertise with SustainCERT's accredited verification platform for carbon markets. The deal enables faster, more scalable verification services across compliance and voluntary carbon markets, addressing growing demand for transparent, high-quality emissions reductions.
SustainCERT pioneered the industry's first comprehensive digital verification platform and recently completed the first fully digital audit for Verra's high-frequency CO₂ certificate issuance pilot. The platform uses AI-driven data analysis to support faster, more accurate verification. SustainCERT also founded the Value Change Initiative, a forum bringing together more than 120 companies and NGOs to develop credible Scope 3 accounting guidance.
