Sustainable Coffee Luggage Prototypes

NINETYGO, in partnership with Covestro, has unveiled a prototype called the R-GO Coffee Journey Series — a coffee luggage design that reportedly achieves a 67% reduction in carbon emissions compared to traditional suitcase shells.

The main innovation in the R-GO Coffee Journey Series lies in its performance-driven material composition. Each travel unit is made with post-consumer recycled materials and coffee grounds. The carbon footprint of a standard 20-inch carry-on shell in the NINETYGO x Covestro coffee luggage series is engineered to produce just 1.19 pounds of emissions, down from 3.4 pounds in conventional models. The companies are also able to cut virgin plastic use by one-third per unit.

All recycled materials used in the R-GO Coffee Journey Series are validated by UL environmental claim verification and the Global Recycled Standard.
