Green Energy-Focused Partnerships

Major resources company Fortescue has entered into a global partnership with green technology provider Envision Energy. The move involves the appointment of the latter entity as a key supplier for wind power and storage solutions to aid in the decarbonization of Fortescue's industrial operations. Specifically, this alliance aims to help the resource company in achieving its goal of eliminating terrestrial emissions from its iron ore operations within the current decade.

The Fortescue x Envision Energy collaboration is formally initiated with a contract for a 132-megawatt wind farm in Western Australia's Pilbara region, which will utilize advanced, high-capacity turbines and exceptionally tall towers designed for challenging environmental conditions.

For the corporate sector, the joining of forces between these two companies represents a large-scale, real-world test of replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy in a hard-to-abate industrial setting.
