Tauron’s eTauron unit has secured renewable energy to cover its charging network for 2026, signaling a continuation of the company’s policy to supply EV chargers with green electricity and to reduce the carbon intensity of vehicle charging in Poland. The arrangement covers the operator’s public charging points and aligns with Tauron’s broader decarbonisation objectives, which include expanding renewable generation and modernising distribution infrastructure. The company frames the decision as part of an integrated approach to electrification and grid transition, ensuring that increased EV load is matched by low‑carbon supply and contractual arrangements that support renewable procurement.

Operationally, powering chargers with contracted renewable energy supports Tauron’s efforts to manage grid impacts from growing EV demand and to offer differentiated, sustainability‑aligned services to customers. The approach can be combined with demand‑side measures such as dynamic pricing and intelligent charging to shift load to periods of lower system stress, and it complements Tauron’s stated investments in grid modernisation, storage, and renewables to enhance system flexibility and reliability.
