Evanston SPACE Hosts Local Upcycled Craft Parties

Evanston SPACE, best known for its live music shows, is expanding into arts programming with two outdoor craft nights on its new patio at 1245 Chicago Ave. this month.

Local artist Jessica Woodburn of Round Two Upcycle Craft Parties will lead the sessions, teaching participants how to make mosaic nightlights on Wednesday, Aug. 13 (6–8 p.m.) and needle-felted dryer balls on Wednesday, Aug. 27 (6:30–8:30 p.m.).

Woodburn, who describes herself as a “trash artist,” specializes in repurposing discarded materials into creative, eco-friendly projects. The classes will use entirely upcycled supplies—sourced from places like Evanston’s WasteShed—keeping costs lower while giving waste a second life.

Tickets are $55 for Aug. 13 and $50 for Aug. 27, and each includes one drink from the patio bar.
