Student-Focused Forestry Certifications
The ForestryWorks® of Georgia Program Offers Career Paths
Debra John — January 30, 2026The 'ForestryWorks® of Georgia' program supports environmentally responsible workforce development by preparing students for careers in sustainable forestry. Launched by the Georgia Forestry Foundation and approved by the Georgia Department of Education, the program offers a career-ready Forestry Certification and a free End of Pathway Assessment for Georgia students.
Developed in partnership with ForestryWorks, the initiative emphasizes the role of forestry in environmental stewardship, conservation, and renewable resource management. Students gain practical knowledge and skills that support responsible land use, forest health, and sustainable energy practices within one of the South’s most important natural resource industries.
The program includes six certification pathways within the Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources career cluster, covering areas such as forest management, renewable energy, wildlife systems, and forestry leadership. By connecting education with sustainability-focused careers, ForestryWorks® of Georgia helps build a future workforce dedicated to protecting forest ecosystems while meeting economic and environmental goals.
