Colin Smith — February 4, 2026Foundation Investment Partners (FIP) has acquired Paper Converters, Inc. through its platform company Sustainable Packaging, expanding FIP’s footprint in paper‑based packaging and reinforcing its sustainable packaging platform. The transaction, announced in late January 2026, brings Paper Converters into a group alongside sister company Amspak to enable operational collaboration and supply chain continuity.
Paper Converters, founded in 2002 and based in Walterboro, South Carolina, manufactures spiral wound paper tubes, edge board, and sheeting and primarily serves the textile sector in the southeastern United States. All products are described as 100 percent biodegradable and recyclable, and the former owners will remain involved to support growth and integration with Sustainable Packaging. The acquisition is presented as a strategic fit to leverage overlapping product lines, share best practices, and strengthen regional service capabilities; financial terms were not disclosed. Observers note that OEM and customer continuity, capacity alignment with Amspak, and execution of integration plans will determine near term commercial outcomes.
