The Future City Competition is a global educational program focused on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The STEM program is designed for middle and high school students, who will work in teams to conceptualize and design an urban environment set one hundred years in the future.

The Future City Competition's challenge for the upcoming cycle is to create a city that minimizes food waste throughout the entire supply chain — from agricultural production to consumer consumption. The competition requires participants to complete several deliverables, including a written essay explaining their concept and a physical model of their proposed city. This will culminate in presentations to professionals from relevant industries. Successful teams have the opportunity to progress to a final event where monetary scholarships and prizes are awarded.

For students, the Future City Competition provides a tangible and engaging platform to apply academic concepts in math and science to a real-world, globally significant problem.
