Mandala Capital Develops a Fund for South and Southeast Asia
Debra John — October 31, 2025Mandala Capital has launched the SSEA Food Fund, supported by a USD 36 million investment from the Green Climate Fund (GCF), to boost sustainable agriculture across South and Southeast Asia. The "USD 250 million fund aims to help farming communities adapt to climate change and strengthen food systems in one of the world’s most climate-vulnerable regions."
Agriculture is vital to the region’s economy, "providing 13% of GDP and employing over one-third of the population but faces rising challenges from climate impacts that could cut crop yields by 10–20% in the coming decades."
The SSEA Food Fund will promote climate-smart farming, efficient water use, and low-emission technologies to help farmers protect crops, improve productivity, and reduce environmental impact. By bridging the investment gap in sustainable agriculture, Mandala Capital and GCF aim to create a resilient, eco-friendly food system that supports both people and the planet.
