Eco-Friendly Trollybus Lines

Mexico City Electric Transport Service Announced Trollybus Line 13

Mexico City has launched Trolleybus Line 13 as part of its broader strategy to expand low emission public transport options. The line began operations on June 7 and covers 29.9 km between Constitución de 1917 and Mixcoac, serving three boroughs and 41 stops. It is designed to transport approximately 36,000 passengers per day and is operated with a fleet of 46 vehicles that include articulated and standard units. These trolleybuses offer a range of up to 75 km and incorporate accessibility and safety features such as surveillance systems, priority seating, wheelchair ramps, and designated areas for women.

The new route strengthens intermodal connectivity by linking with several Metro, Cablebús, Metrobús, and RTP lines, as well as other trolleybus corridors. A key feature is its integration with Trolleybus Line 10 at Constitución de 1917, enabling extended travel across the city through a single transfer. Service operates daily from early morning until midnight with a flat fare structure and exemptions for young children, older adults, and people with disabilities. The project supports Mexico City’s ongoing efforts to modernize its electric transport network and improve sustainable mobility infrastructure.
