Ssutainable Bus Routes

The Sindh government has launched a new public transport route ahead of Eid, aimed at providing residents with affordable and environmentally sustainable travel options. The initiative is part of a larger effort to expand electric vehicle (EV) bus services and modernize urban mobility.

Plans are underway to extend EV bus networks beyond Karachi to cities including Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Shikarpur, improving regional connectivity. Officials have also outlined a long-term roadmap to introduce thousands of electric buses in phases, with up to 8,000 vehicles expected to be integrated into Karachi’s transit system.

The wider transport strategy also includes the rollout of EV taxi services and double-decker buses to increase capacity and enhance the overall commuter experience for consumers across Pakistan.
