Karsan e-ATAK buses have been officially introduced in Gothenburg, Sweden’s second-largest city, as part of a broader commitment to sustainable and low-emission urban transport. Operated by Vy Buss under the supervision of Västtrafik, the "8.3-meter autonomous, fully electric vehicles run on a 4-kilometre corridor between Gothenburg Central Station and Liseberg Station, serving seven stops within the Gårda district."

This one-year pilot project reflects Gothenburg’s strategy to integrate autonomous and eco-friendly technologies into its public transport system. Each e-ATAK bus is "powered by a 220 kWh battery, enabling zero-emission operations that reduce air pollution, limit noise, and lower the city’s overall carbon footprint."

By adopting advanced electric mobility solutions, Gothenburg strengthens its role as a leader in sustainable city planning. The initiative enhances accessibility for both residents and visitors while supporting eco-tourism and demonstrating how clean energy innovations can improve quality of life in urban environments.
