Princeton Charter School Debuted Two E-Busses for School Routes
Colin Smith — December 4, 2025Princeton Public Schools has introduced two battery‑electric school buses into regular service, with the vehicles assigned to routes serving Community Park Elementary School and Littlebrook Elementary School and including stops at Princeton Charter School. The buses entered service in September and are being used on daily routes that cover approximately 40 miles each, enabling the district to maintain scheduled student transport while collecting operational data on range, charging needs, and reliability.
The district frames the deployment as an initial evaluation of electric bus performance and efficiency under typical route conditions, with the vehicles providing a platform to assess charging logistics, route suitability, and maintenance requirements. Princeton Public Schools intends to use the data gathered from these routes to inform future fleet decisions and to evaluate the potential for broader adoption of electric school buses as part of its sustainable transportation planning.
