Honolulu Airport Expands its Wiki Wiki Shuttle Service
Debra John — February 18, 2026Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) has expanded its Wiki Wiki Shuttle service with the introduction of three electric transit trams, reinforcing its commitment to lower-emission airport operations. Delivered by Sustainability Partners in coordination with the State of Hawaiʻi’s fleet electrification contract, the 'MotoEV Electro Transit Buddy' trams with trailers replace conventional fuel-powered vehicles with electric alternatives designed to reduce on-site greenhouse gas emissions and noise pollution.
The Wiki Wiki Shuttle, which provides complimentary transportation between terminals and concourses, plays a central role in daily passenger mobility. Transitioning this service to electric vehicles supports Hawaiʻi’s broader sustainability and clean energy goals while improving local air quality within the airport environment.
The deployment was executed through Sustainability Partners’ Electric Vehicles as a Service (EVaaS) model, which enables public agencies to adopt electric fleets by managing procurement, infrastructure coordination, and long-term maintenance, helping scale sustainable transportation solutions efficiently and responsibly.
