Modular Battery Breakthroughs

Scalvy has introduced a modular battery solution for electric vehicles designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Developed in collaboration with Valeo, the system aims to support more sustainable EV performance by minimizing energy losses common in traditional powertrain designs.

Conventional electric vehicles rely on large, centralized components to manage power, which can lead to wasted energy during multiple conversion steps. Scalvy’s approach replaces this with smaller, distributed modules called “Power Neurons” that manage and convert energy directly within each battery pack. This localized system reduces energy loss, improves efficiency, and can help extend vehicle range while lowering overall energy consumption.

The modular design is flexible and can be adapted to different vehicle types and battery technologies, supporting wider adoption of cleaner transportation. Testing under standard driving conditions showed promising results, indicating that this approach could contribute to more efficient electric vehicles and reduced emissions.
