Fiber-Based Food Packaging

Dow and RDM Group have introduced 'Multiboard CirculaRR,' a new fibre-based food packaging solution designed to support circularity in barrier packaging applications. Suitable for products including frozen foods, fruit trays, and dry pet food, the product combines recycled cartonboard with recycled polyethylene, resulting in food-contact-compliant performance and high recycled content.

Developed using RDM Group’s expertise in recycled fibre packaging and Dow’s advanced recycling and circular polymer technologies, the solution is engineered to meet demanding packaging requirements with minimal plastic use. The cartonboard contains a lightweight PE coating of approximately 5% by weight, enabling compatibility with existing mixed-paper recycling streams and supporting more efficient end-of-life recovery.

Dow’s advanced recycling capabilities also help transform difficult-to-recycle plastic waste into high-quality raw materials, creating recycled plastics with performance comparable to virgin materials while complementing traditional mechanical recycling systems.
