Tech Brand Recycling Milestones
Apple Hit a Record 30% of Product Materials From Recycled Sources
Adam Harrie — April 24, 2026Apple announced that 30% of all materials across products shipped in 2025 came from recycled sources. This marks the company's highest-ever level, alongside the completion of its transition to fully fiber-based packaging free of plastic. Apple's recycled materials milestones now include 100% recycled cobalt in every Apple-designed battery and 100% recycled rare earth elements in all magnets.
The brand's new MacBook Neo was built with 60% recycled content overall, the most of any Apple device. Apple and its suppliers also produced over 20 gigawatts of renewable energy in 2025 and saved 17 billion gallons of fresh water through conservation partnerships.
Apple is showing that setting material targets and investing in next-generation recycling technology can turn annual environmental reporting into a genuine benchmark rather than a branding exercise.
