Battery Recycling Strategies

LG Energy Solution (LGES) announced on Tuesday that it is stepping up its battery recycling initiatives as part of a comprehensive strategy to create a sustainable, circular lifecycle for batteries. The company’s plan goes beyond simply producing and using batteries by aiming to close the loop from raw material sourcing through manufacturing, use, and eventual disposal.

By integrating recycling into its operations, LGES intends to reduce waste, conserve critical materials, and lower the environmental footprint of its products. The move also positions the company to tap into emerging business opportunities in the growing market for battery reuse, refurbishment, and material recovery.

“By establishing a virtuous cycle for battery resources, we will take the lead in realizing a sustainable future and delivering greater value to our customers,” an official from the company said.
