FAI Launches the Tilapia Hub to Encourage Welfare-Based Tilapia Farming

Food Animal Initiative (FAI) has launched “The Tilapia Hub,” a new platform aimed at supporting welfare-focused practices across the tilapia supply chain. Hosted on FAI Academy, the organization’s global learning platform for food professionals, the hub is available in six key languages, including Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, Vietnamese, Arabic, and English.
The platform combines multilingual online training, practical welfare assessment tools, and in-person learning opportunities. It also serves as a collaborative space for industry partners and suppliers to share research, innovations, and emerging technologies related to tilapia welfare.
“We are already influencing thousands of tilapia farmers worldwide,” FAI E-Learning and Aquaculture Program Manager Sara Barrento said. “The Tilapia Hub accelerates this progress by translating our global welfare program into a user-friendly digital platform.”
