Trimet Plans to Expand its Recycled Alloy Production

Trimet is expanding its production of aluminium wire alloys made with recycled content, responding to increased consumer demand from the electrical, mechanical, and welding sectors. The move supports the company’s broader strategy to strengthen the circular economy in the aluminium industry.

While aluminium can be recycled indefinitely without losing quality, producing high-performance alloys from scrap requires precise sorting, separation, and process control. To ensure consistent standards, Trimet has developed closed-loop recycling systems that collect and reprocess scrap materials back into new production.

“By expanding the circular economy in the aluminium industry, we are not only contributing to the achievement of climate protection goals, but we are also increasing material efficiency and supply security for an important industrial material in Europe,” said Philipp Schlüter, Chairman of the Executive Board of Trimet Aluminium SE.
