Carbon Ridge is Innovating Within the Maritime Transport Sector

Carbon Ridge has installed and commenced operation of a centrifugal carbon capture system aboard a commercial tanker vessel owned by Scorpio Tankers. The company maintains that this is the first application of a centrifugal-based capture method in a shipping context.
Carbon Ridge's Carbon Ridge system is designed to extract carbon dioxide from the ship's exhaust, which is then liquefied and stored onboard until it can be offloaded. A key feature emphasized is the system's compact and modular design, which is reported to require significantly less space than alternative technologies and offers flexible installation options to suit various vessel layouts.
The implementation of the centrifugal carbon capture system aboard Scorpio Tankers is characterized as a pilot program intended to validate the technology's performance and practicality in a real-world maritime environment.
