Höegh Evi and Aker BP Partner for an Eastern Swedish Hub

Höegh Evi and Aker BP are partnering with the Ports of Stockholm to develop a CO₂ logistics hub that will help reduce industrial emissions in eastern Sweden. The hub is designed to create an efficient system for collecting captured carbon dioxide and transporting it by ship to permanent storage sites, supporting efforts to lower overall greenhouse gas levels and advance national climate goals.
The collaboration builds on the earlier NICE project, which completed a feasibility study with several regional stakeholders. Current work focuses on detailed planning for a CO₂ handling facility at Stockholm Norvik Port, carried out in close coordination with suppliers and participating industrial emitters. This planning stage is intended to prepare the ground for future investment decisions across the full carbon capture and storage chain.
Stockholm Norvik Port’s strategic location enables smooth marine transport of captured CO₂, helping strengthen low-carbon infrastructure and supporting long-term environmental benefits for the Baltic Sea region.
