Operated by Prairie View A&M University, the Governor Bill & Vara Daniel Farm & Ranch is an extensive agricultural and research facility that functions as an active center for both academic study and practical application.
Spanning more than 770 acres, the farm supports a diverse array of operations, including livestock management for cattle and goats, the cultivation of various crops, and specialized research in natural resources and horticulture. The integration of advanced technology is a defining characteristic of the agricultural and research facility. At this site, Prairie View A&M University employs tools such as drones, robotic systems, and electronic livestock monitoring equipment to enhance precision and efficiency in agricultural practices.
The Governor Bill & Vara Daniel Farm & Ranch also hosts numerous specialized installations, including a meat science lab, a veterinary facility, and an International Goat Research Center, which collectively facilitate investigations into animal genetics, health, and sustainable farming methods.
