Regenerative Agriculture Partnerships
Kellanova x Walmart x Indigo Team Up for an Arkansas Project
Debra John — November 28, 2025Kellanova, Walmart, and Indigo Ag have announced a collaborative Arkansas project to advance regenerative agriculture and strengthen farmer resilience across the state. Through Indigo’s 'Source by Indigo' program, the partnership equips rice growers with agronomic resources, technical guidance, and data-driven insights to support more sustainable and profitable farming operations.
The initiative builds on a four-year collaboration between Walmart and Indigo Ag, which has already produced measurable environmental benefits among farmers supplying Walmart’s 'Great Value' brand. These outcomes include "avoiding an estimated 37,000 metric tons of CO₂e emissions, conserving more than 11 billion gallons of water, and generating roughly $900,000 in additional financial returns for participants." With Kellanova’s involvement, the program expands its reach and reinforces the company’s commitment to responsible sourcing and community well-being.
As farmers face mounting economic and environmental pressures, the initiative promotes practices that improve soil health, enhance water efficiency, and increase long-term resilience. Participants also receive financial premiums supporting improved water management, optimized fertilizer use, and diversified crop rotations that strengthen soil quality and biodiversity.
