Supportive Regenerative Agriculture Initiatives
Honda and Carbon by Indigo Support US Farmers
Kalin Ned — November 20, 2025Honda is engaging in a sustainability initiative by partnering with a program called Carbon by Indigo, which focuses on agricultural practices.
Through this collaboration, the automaker is financially supporting farmers across the United States — with a particular emphasis on those located near its own operational facilities — to adopt specific farming methods categorized as regenerative. These techniques include cultivating cover crops, minimizing soil disturbance, and rotating crop types. The benefits of adopting these strategies may enhance the quality of the soil, improve water retention, and remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by storing it in the ground.
Honda's involvement takes the form of purchasing carbon credits equivalent to 1,800 metric tons of CO2, which represents a verified reduction in atmospheric carbon achieved through the farmers' changed practices.
