Zoo-Backed Electronic Drives
Central Florida Zoo Hosted a Electronics Recycling Drive
Kanesa D — January 7, 2026To help make electronic disposal easier, the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens hosted a special electronics recycling event this past weekend. The zoo teamed up with Urban E Recycling to provide a convenient place for people to drop off unwanted electronics. In return for participating, visitors also received a discount, making it a win-win for both families and the environment.
Zoo officials explained that the event fits into their larger mission of conservation and wildlife protection. Many electronic devices contain toxic metals and other harmful materials that can damage the environment if they are thrown into regular trash and end up in landfills. By recycling these items correctly, the zoo hopes to reduce pollution, protect wildlife habitats, and encourage the community to make environmentally responsible choices.
