Centralized Commercial Vehicle Computers

Centralized commercial vehicle computers are helping automakers simplify increasingly complex electronic systems as trucks adopt more connected and software-driven features. Stoneridge debuted its EVO ECU platform at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, Germany, with an architecture designed specifically for commercial vehicles. The system consolidates processing into a centralized platform that supports ADAS, diagnostics, camera applications, sensor integration and future AI-enabled capabilities.

By combining hardware and software as a common foundation, EVO enables remote software updates and allows new features to be introduced without significant hardware changes. The platform can also improve vehicle uptime and simplify maintenance through enhanced diagnostics. For commercial vehicle manufacturers and fleet operators, centralized architectures could reduce integration complexity while making vehicles easier to update throughout their operating lives. This approach also gives Stoneridge a scalable platform that can serve trucks, buses, coaches and off-highway equipment.
