A Driivz survey of 300 senior EV charging professionals across North America and Europe found that 59% now believe that charger reliability is the industry's top challenge. This thought has overtaken energy constraints for the first time in the report's history. The EV charging network operator profitability shift, which Driivz coined "intelligent profitability," has operators prioritizing uptime, utilization, and AI-driven operations over deploying new infrastructure, with 67% calling AI critical or very important to company growth.

Top AI use cases include anomaly detection (72%), pricing optimization (70%), and predictive maintenance (69%), though nearly two-thirds said data quality gaps are limiting the full implementation of AI.

Driivz shows that the next competitive frontier is not the number of chargers deployed but whether those chargers deliver the reliability and seamless experience drivers and operators actually need.
