Apartment EV Charging Deployments
ChargePoint & OBE Power Partnered on Its Multifamily EV Charging
Adam Harrie — May 19, 2026ChargePoint and OBE Power partnered to deploy around 2,500 multifamily EV charging ports beginning in 2026, with the deal structured so landlords pay nothing upfront. The multifamily EV charging solutions model includes the full stack, including chargers, software, driver support, maintenance, insurance, energy cost reimbursement and carbon credit revenue, all managed by OBE Power.
The partnership targets one of EV charging’s most underserved gaps. The U.S. Department of Energy estimates that 80% of EV charging occurs at home, yet multifamily residents have significantly less access to home charging than single-family homeowners.
As EV ownership expands beyond detached homes, ChargePoint and OBE Power show how bundling costs and operational responsibilities into a landlord-friendly model can make apartment charging more accessible.
