Mindful Battery Manufacturing Partnerships

Durapower Group, a Singaporean enterprise specializing in lithium-ion battery technology, has entered into a preliminary agreement with Kıvanç Enerji, a Turkish industrial conglomerate with interests in renewable energy and solar panel production. The memorandum of understanding was formalized in Detroit, and it outlines an exploratory phase for a potential joint venture focused on manufacturing battery cells and packs within Turkey, with the expressed intent of supplying the United States market.

Through their collaboration, Durapower Group and Kıvanç Enerji aim to address the anticipated significant growth in American demand for electric vehicle batteries, as forecasted by the International Energy Agency. The envisioned manufacturing facility would produce batteries using various chemical compositions, including Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate (LMFP) and Nickel Manganese Cobalt-oxide (NMC), with production volumes planned to scale in phases according to market needs.
