Low-Cyclic Silicone Ingredients

Elkem Silicones has expanded its Puresil range with three low-cyclic silicone ingredients designed for cosmetic formulations.

The new offerings—Puresil ORG 0415 and Puresil ORG 0515—deliver enhanced sensory performance while supporting more sustainable formulation practices. ORG 0415 is an elastomer gel that provides long-lasting hydration, a smooth, silky feel, and a soft-focus effect for even coverage in skincare and color cosmetics. It also supports SPF formulations by helping create a uniform mineral sunscreen film.

ORG 0515, an elastomer fluid blend, offers high lubricity to improve spreadability, gloss, and finish across makeup, hair, skin, and sun care applications.

Both ingredients utilize biobased carriers, enabling formulators to reduce reliance on fossil-based inputs. Suitable for anhydrous systems and as co-emulsifiers in water-in-silicone and water-in-oil formulations, the materials are engineered to deliver high performance while enhancing texture, finish, and sun protection efficacy.
