INEOS Launches the New Recycl-IN Grade with 70% Recycled Content
Kanesa D — January 26, 2026INEOS Olefins & Polymers Europe has introduced a new packaging material to help cosmetics brands increase recycled content. The company’s Recycl-IN hybrid polymer contains 70% recycled plastic and is specifically designed for contact-sensitive cosmetic packaging, where appearance, strength, and consistency are critical.
The material works by blending high levels of mechanically recycled plastic with advanced “booster” polymers, allowing it to perform much like virgin plastic during manufacturing. INEOS says the hybrid approach maintains the look, durability, and processing reliability brands expect, while also helping reduce CO₂ emissions.
Technically, the new grade is a natural-color polypropylene homopolymer suited for thin-wall injection molding and fiber extrusion, common processes in cosmetic packaging. Despite its high recycled content, it offers comparable strength, clarity, and processing ease to virgin polypropylene, while its carbon footprint is about 35% lower.
