IONATE partnered with General Motors to deploy its grid modernization technology, installing the Hybrid Intelligent Transformer (HIT) at GM's 900,000-square-foot plant in Romulus, Michigan, marking the company's entry into the U.S. market. The HIT system provides real-time visibility into power quality at sub-millisecond resolution, operates at greater than 99% efficiency, and detects and resolves power disturbances before they affect operations or the surrounding grid.

In average deployment scenarios, IONATE's technology allows grids to accommodate 33% more distributed energy resources, carry 25% more power without upgrading existing poles and wires, and reduce wasted power by 6%. Each installation also functions as a real-time control node through IONATE's Aurora software platform, contributing to broader grid capacity improvements beyond the individual site.
