GridCARE Raised $64M to Unlock Its Power Acceleration Platform for AI
Adam Harrie — May 19, 2026GridCARE raised $64 million in a Series A led by Sutter Hill Ventures to expand its Power Acceleration platform, a physics-based AI system that identifies unused grid capacity in real time and compresses data center interconnection timelines from years to months. The AI data center grid power capacity platform targets what GridCARE calls the Time-to-Energize Crisis: despite roughly 30% average grid utilization, new large-scale power connections still take six to 10 years to deliver.
A joint project with Portland General Electric unlocked a path to more than 400MW of capacity in Hillsboro, Oregon, with the first 80MW expected in 2026.
GridCARE shows that activating latent grid capacity, rather than waiting years to build new infrastructure, can help bring data centers online faster.
