Krungthai Bank and Mastercard Plant New Trees for Every Card Sold

Krungthai Bank is partnering with Mastercard’s Priceless Planet Coalition to plant trees for every new debit card issued. Designed to promote the new “Krungthai Eco-Friendly Debit Card,” which is manufactured to cut carbon emissions, the Krungthai Bank was crafted in partnership with Mastercard and Conservation International (CI) and World Resources Institute (WRI). The card is marketed as part of the Priceless Planet Coalition, which aims to restore 100 million trees within Thailand. For every card application, Krungthai will plant one tree to rejuvenate the green spaces across the country.
The Krungthai Eco-Friendly Debit Card features a composition of 97% recycled materials. It also meets the standards of the Card Eco-Certification (CEC), and its production helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 18%. This results in an overall reduction of 1.34 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2).
